Default LS 460 or 750i?

Parents are in the market for a new car.. They're thinking about getting the LS 460 or 750i.. Which car would be a better choice? I don't know too much about cars so I'm here for other people's opinions. thanks!

thats a tough one..both are great, they are going to have to drive each one and see what better fits them. We can talk all day what is better but they will have to be the judge of that.

fully loaded LS460 might be a tad more than the starting base price of a 750

thats a tuff one, I think against the 750 I would go with the lexus. Money wise I think it would be a better match for the 760, But if it was 760li I would go for those 12cylinders. I think the lexus is better equipped, tho i like the exterior and styling of the BMW better, lexus is still a beautiful car, just the 7 series to me is more appealing. Really cant go wrong either way. But I agree with Booyah your parents are going to have to definately try each one out

So many variables to consider. Do your parents prefer sport or luxury? Do they want the latest model? Which exterior design do they prefer?

It's hard to say on car is "better" than the other. That being said, the LS460 will be the newer model, with the newer technology, backed with Lexus reliability. However, the 750 will drive like a BMW, which is something the LS will probably not be able to match. I myself really like the 7 series, but compared to the new S550 and the upcoming LS460, it's already a little dated.

760 was discontinued according to one of the main 3 car mags I subscribe to (Road Track, C&D, Motor Trend)

if you want some hands on comparison and youre near a www.tasteoflexus.com location you should really really go, its an excellent event you will have a LOT of fun

register quickly or it will fill up, LS460 will debut there and youll probably get to drive it and its competitors the 750 and S550

Regardless of money, LS 430 had outclassed 750 in every department except handling.

With the new LS 460, the handling gap will likely evaporate.

If I were you I would push the parents to nearest Lexus dealership.

If Bill gates, Larry ellison, Steven Speilberg and ex-boeing chief Alan Mullaly are its fans, than there is something about the LS that speaks for itself.

The best that money can buy

I was a huge Lexus skeptic till 1999, and now I am a convert.

If they can afford BMW... no point of looking at LS... IMO
Lexus is just a cheap alternative to BMW or MB!!

I would prefer the LS460. Acutually it's handling is just a very little below the 750i, it's turning radius is also smaller than 750i. LS460 has the world's first 8 speed automatic transmition. It is more quiet than 750. It is also more comfortable and luxury, with lots of most hi-tech equipments. It also looks better than the 750i. LS460 is a brand new car compare to the 750i. LS460 is also more powerful than the 750i. The base price is most likely cheaper too. Lexus is more reliable than BMW. So I can't see why you choose the 750i. It just overmatch the 750i in every way.
