I was able to obtain more info on the Lunch here in Riyadh.
On Saturday 3rd of Feb, there will be an offical lunch party at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh (By invite only of course).
The next day (Sunday) it will be shown in the Riyadh Showroom.
I have been told by the dealer that they will start delivery of the cars that people had paid a downpayment around the 9th or 10th of Feb. So the wait is almost over.
I do belive that the event will conside with similer ones around the gulf, give or take a day or two.
Regarding the pricing in Riyadh it is set at SR280K ($75K) for the short base; SR305K ($81.3K) for the Long base and around SR330K ($88K) for exective seats. But you had to fork down SR50K ($13.3K) to reserve (it is refundable if you don't like the car; its just to show that you are serious).
The Saudi dealer has the 19" 5 spoke wheels for the long base as standard, and you can't get them for the short version. Maybe later they will offer as an option.
During the Afternoon, i did get a chance to see the cars in the backlot of the dealer (it took some convencing to let me in). Its just that a reserved a color that is new (not avalivble in North America) and I told the salesmen that I needed to see the color on the car, to be sure.
The color code is 4T5 and it is awsome. and would highly recommend.
Similer to what was noted in previous posts, there is no shark fin on top of the car, and there is an extra vent opening under the front licence plate.

Guys,
I just got off the phone with a Lexus salesman and he confirmed what AboSaleh said before. Car brochures will be available next week. The car itself will be in the showroom next week and delivery starts the week after. He also confirmed that the only feature not available is the Park Assist. I can't wait to get my hands on the car.

I think the reason for not having the fin is the fact that these cars are not equiped with XM NavTraffic which receive live traffic updates from GIS and this works only in the US, as far as I know. The commercial posted by another user for the South African launch of the car clearly shows that there is no fin either. This is not missing in the MidEast only. I do not know if it serves more than typical GIS update (i.e., GPS, traffic or weather)??
By the way, does anyone know if the LS460L has the 19-speaker Mark Levinson system and the 30 GB HDD?

Hi all,
I went to see them today and the car is beautiful!
LS460 in Kuwait seems to be fully loaded apart from 3 options: 1- The self parking feature. 2- The laser cruise control (the one that keeps the distance between you and the car in front of you). 3- The HDD
.
All the cars short or long come with 19 inch wheels and the ML sound system but I have a feeling the price will be more here in Kuwait than the other GCC.
good luck.

aburakan,
I think you are correct regarding the fin.
I am not sure, but I belive the Saudi cars will also be missing the adaptive Cruise Control (basicly the radar in front of the car that increases speed and brakes as the car infront of you does.)
I couldn't get a clear answer from the salesman, I think they are not sure yet.

So we won't be getting the
Advanced Parking Assist
Radar Cruise Control
Pre-Colision System
Lane Keeping Assistant
Driver Monitor System
HDD
That's too bad, but great news as far as the price goes. I was expecting 325k for the LWB 5 seater and 355k for the Ottoman package. Man I wish I was in Riyadh now to see the launch at the Four Season. Any of you guys invited?

Halla wallah bishabab...

And thanks for the pics Q8Lexus... here in the US... We havent received the LS with the touring package, including the 19inch wheels... and I must say, those wheels look very nice. I'm not a big fan of the current 18inchers on the 460.
