Only Long Wheel Base Shown
Every picture on the new Lexus.com website and every picture in the new, full color brochure is the LS 460L, the long wheel base model. I think thats strange. I'm not starved for SWB pictures, but I would think both would be shown on the new website and brochure. Anyone else think this is odd or have a reason for it?

What is your criteria for deciding quickly whether a LS 450 picture is of SWB or LWB? LOL Mine is--I look at the back window. If it is much larger than the front window it is LWB; if it is about the same size then its SWB. LOL (Think we stare at these pictures too much?)

so far the best way is to look at the rear window. look at the top of the window. on the swb, it curves down very fast, almost immediate from the b pillar area. but for the lwb, it actually stays flat for couple of inches before it starts to curve down.
i taught that to my wife during the driving events and in no time she picked that up

Yup, that's the best way to tell, but only if you look at it directly sideways & not at an angle like this, it can be harder to tell then.
There is such a thing as optical illusion, sometimes our eyes fool us.
Remember the pic of the Porsche GT2 where you think the rear wheel looks bigger than the front ? I agree with you looking at the pic too, but when I actually overlap the rear wheel in the pic over the front wheel, it's proven to be actually smaller than the front wheel by quite a bit . . . . .
You can't test it in a similar way in this case above, but the angle of the pic can make the rear door appears shorter than it actually is. It's possible there can be some distortion during the scanning process too.
My bet is still on SWB, but I won't be too surprised if it isn't . . .

But the LWB is the big story here...
Without much visual difference between the two (the 4.8 inches is hard to tell from pictures) I think Lexus marketing is smart for showing the LWB, it makes the car feel more flagship and finally sticks it to the Germans who have been offering 2 wheel bases on their flagships for a long time.
