we have a little bit of a car dilemma at the current moment in the household, just need a little help from CL. we have a 2002 RX300 and a 2006 GS430. should we ........
option four is least likely out of them all, even though not impossible.
(excuse me mods if this is in the wrong spot, tried my best to put it in the right location)

I think it depends on what your priorities are, and what the specs of the LS 600h L turn out to be. How much do you want the RX 400h? It's a pretty cool car, nice power, fuel efficiency, Gen V NAVI now, plus possible RSES etc...
What would you definitely want on the LS 600h L that the GS 430 should be sold after 1-2 years? Note the LS 460 L might have more trunk space, depending on the packages. You might save some significant $$$ with the 460 L over the 600h L. But the 600h L is supposed to be the 'ultimate' LS...
I'm sure other LS forum members will have some suggestions. BTW, nice car collection!

thanks. we definetly need the RX replacement, nothing is really wrong with the 300 except that were getting tired of it and its becoming sluggish after numerous gunk build up problems. we drove the 400h at the taste of lexus event and it was a very nice replacement. we came home and in the mail was a letter inviting us to trade in our RX. when we got the GS it was the next "big thing" and we held off on the LS because we knew it was going to be fully changed and upgraded. just dont want to get the new LS460l and then kick ourselves later thinking why didn't we get the "ultimate 600hl."

I'd say go for both. Fuel economy.. fine but super ultra low emissions AND power? why not? Plus regardless of what the kids say with their riced out Civic, it's cooler to drive by in EV mode than with a loud exhaust. I get even more stares when I accelerate from a stop in EV mode. Take that and shove it in your exhaust lol.
Yeah, this is coming from a Prius owner who won't be able to afford an LS for another 35 years lol

... I hate to say this, because I'm obviously biased ....
but the LS430 almost sounds like a Ferrari! Just a lot more hushed!

Although I don't know what that sounds / feels like in the LS430, I can somewhat relate. It's a nice feeling knowing that at soft acceleration the car is almost whisper silent, but when you really get on the throttle...

All you'll hear is a slight whine from the electric motor (but given ambient noise, if you're not tuned to pick up that whine, you'll never hear it and that's when I catch people off-guard haha).
