I just got off of the phone w/ Steve at Tire Rack. He tells me that they have several wheels that will fit the new "non touring" LS460L. We talked about the brake and steering issue and he indicated that all measurements have been taken and these wheels fit. I am going with the ASA JH 8 (silver w/ machined lip) 19". I have the AMG 215 silver w/ machine lipped on my Mercedes S55 (2003) which is also a big car and they look great. These are very similar. If anybody knows of a problem with these please let me know.

When I went for technical training at Lexus office the engineers were telling us about the couple of difference types of steering, brake and suspension system. That why the LS460 got 120 mm PCD to make it harder to put aftermarket wheels or the wheel manufacturers need to stay with Lexus spec, but it will be really hard to do because now they are dealing with the LS460, LS460L and LS460 sport package.
Two difference types of steering racks are on the LS460, one just a standard EPS and another one is the EPS with VGRS.
Two of brakes system one with 13.14 inch front rotors and the another one with 14.06 inch front rotors(Sport package).
If the car equipped with APGS, the bigger wheel may cause the miscalculation when you use the APGS. If you speedo reading is off about 5 mph at 75 mph, so at 3 mph in the parking lot it may be off a few inches.
I suggest some good research before spend the money and make sure it will clear the steering and suspension of the car.

Personally, I would be quite happy with a set of 19" just so I still preserve the comfortable ride of the LS460L it's meant to have.
I think the BBS RGR forged wheels which are available for this car in 19" would look very nice. They don't have the big lips of some custom forged wheels, but I always like the mesh spokes design on the BBS RGR & RS-GT better than any other mesh wheels, they seem to look just right & not too busy.
If one go for wheels with big lips, then you need at least 20"+ for sure IMHO, as the lips tend to make the wheels look smaller . . .

just be careful on any aftermarket wheels, you need to make sure they won't rub against the sway bars as noted in another thread by bob. the touring 19s won't fit on the normal non-touring ls460, i believe dealers are giving explicit instructions

I was told 275/45/19. I think any wider and you start running into rubbing issues. One of the things that is nice about going with the 45s is you don't lose much sidewall so the ride doesn't get rough like it does with 35s. And there is certainly plenty of wheel well to accomodate the 19 inch 45s.

ok just went to lexus.com
stock is 235/50/18
so 245/50/18 and 275/45/18 is pretty much the same
that means for 19s it would be 245/45/19 and 275/40/19, so pvo is right. the overall diameter is quite a bit larger than other lexus lineup. this is great, so it can take much larger wheels

My car has 18" wheels. Has anyone seen any suitable ones?
Apparently because of the big brakes and different bolt pattern my choice is limited at present, according to Tire Rack

I would stick with 100% custom crafted wheels for the LS460 since it has such odd clearances and other specs.
ZONE / MODULARE / iFORGED would be my choice (all have done the LS460 already)
