Default Touring Package

Is the Touring Package suspension the same as the air suspension in the non-touring L version of the 460? The information reads the same: air suspension, variable gea-ration steering (VGRS) and adaptive variable suspension (AVS). The Touring Package then adds the larger wheels, tires and brakes/pads. But is the underlying air suspension the same?

I ask because the dealer says they're different with the touring package L having a somewhat stiffer suspension to start with. Sales person and tech person from the dealer's shop say this is the case. But I can't find any specifications or other written information to verify this.

Test drove the touring package L and it is outstanding so am very interested but trying to confirm the suspension comparison as the written descriptions of the air suspension I have seen read the same between the L with and without the Touring Package.

I received the answer to my question from the dealer after all. They called back after checking with their chief tech person and the suspensions are the same. The only difference with the Touring Package is the addition of the larger wheels, tires and brakes.

They also confirmed that if you get the L version with the 18" wheels you can't change them out to the Touring L's 19" wheels. Not sure if that means you can't change to some other 19" wheel but the 19" wheel package that comes with the touring package can't be substituted on the standard L with 18 inchers, or so I am told.

Also seems that the Touring L may be a fairly low volume car compared to the other versions, at least initially. The indication was that currently and for the next month or so there is only one Touring L in the NW Region, the one I drove. Only coming in black, silver and smoky granite. Anyone learning different info on the Touring L?

very interesting, i was under the impression that the air suspenion in touring package is different from the normal air suspension for nontouring ones, where the touring one is a bit stiffer

but in any case, the 19s in touring package won't fit on the non-touring package coz' of the sway bars. they are different and it will rub. it's posted in another thread
