I don't think there would be anything significant.
Depends on what you consider significant. But probably enough to get the 0-60 down to the 5.4 sec that people are looking for. To see how much of a difference atmospheric conditions can make on a normally aspirated car look at the October issue of Motor Trend that tested the new G35 against the BMW 330. On a humid 90 degree day, the weather correction was approximately 0.3 sec for both 0-60 & 1/4 mile for both cars. Also, R&T tested the IS 350 on a 90+ degree day & got a 6.0 sec 0-60 & 14.5 1/4 mile, well off what we've seen in other tests.

Air density effects power for any internal combustion engine, forced induction or N/A. The difference on FI would naturally be greater, but now most FI engines run intercoolers which can minimize the problem.

5.4 seconds will be 'what most are looking for'?

Well, I guess performance was never a Lexus thing.

Anyone that complains about a 4300 luxury sedan doing these performance figures needs to seriously get drunk or laid this weekend.

My God everyone, this is one test and what the hell were some of you expecting, 0-60 in 3 seconds and 130mph in the 1/4 mile?

How may of you have even been to the drag strip? Take the mags as a reference, not the bible. Go out there and TRY IT YOURSELF.

As for temperature, colder air might be a moot point as it means colder tires and colder tires don't hook up and launch as well as warmer tires.

Bottom line read my post. Sub 14 second times are very possible. I am sure the LS has All-Season crap tires. Slap some performance tires on there, and WHAM sub 14 second times.

The S600 is around 4900lb and can run a 1/4 in 12 seconds, give or take a few. It'll do the 0-60 in less than a hand

I'm glad that we're talking about the LS460 though, because the 760Li if I remember right, put out 5.5ish second 0-60's and that's a V12 with almost the same power as the (around) LS600lh.

IMO, what the S600/S65 do is nothing short of considering the heft of what those engines have to pull. Just amazing.

I doubt the LS 600L h matches it but it will at least be a faster LS.

Here's to hoping for a violation of the laws of physics and a sub 3 second 0-60.
