Five Star Wheels in the Commercials
I keep seeing the LS460 with five star rims in the commercials but every one that I have seen so far has the spoke design. Does anyone know if the five star rims are an option? If so, how much do they cost?

That explains it. I looked up the price of that package on the web-site and it is $3,000 and includes a few other things besides the wheels. Do you think dealers will sell these separately? Would I expect to pay $2,000?

Not only that, apparently Lexus is not doing both the luxury package and touring package together. So one can get the touring package but can't get the luxury package as well, which baffles me that Lexus would do that.

Actually the Touring L is available now although the quantities may currently be limited. I bought one last week (silver/black) but it was the only one the dealer had and there were no other ones in the region to choose from. Dealer said the Touring will come in silver, black and granite exterior colors. The Touring has the larger wheels, tires and brakes. Plus it has a full sized trunk as it is not restricted by rear seat cooling devices that come with the rear seat upgrade options that don't come in the Touring L. Great car and glad I grabbed it quickly as others were willing to pay more than msrp for it. I did not.

I'll take a picture but may need some guidance on how to post it here.
The larger wheels/tires really fill the wheel wells better imho as side by side the 18" wheels almost look a bit small. Probably why they seem to be using the Touring L in the commercials. Wish they would use it in the car mag comparos too where performance is king.

The chrome 18' wheel that will be available soon also looks sharp. however i haven't seen it in real life yet. I picked up my granitemica /blk SWB ,and I think the chrome wheel may look terrific. Oddly I also thought the 18' looked small for the wheel well on the pre production cars , however they really don't to me on my car . Possibbly there was a difference in those units. I also noticed that the pre production models seem to carry their rear ends high but again that is not true on my car.

Does anyone know -- on a LS460L -- what the actual difference in tire height/diameter would be? For some reason I thought they were identical -- meaning the 19" wheels use lower aspect tires -- to keep the gearing identical. No access to the owner's manual right now; I'll check it later to see if they reference these measurements...
