OK I am on my second problem. The first was the tire pressure monitor. It was off and I had to take the car in for service. Took about 10 minutes. No problem except that the service center is around 25 miles away.
Now when I was getting the car, the Lexus rep tried to register the Lexus Link for me. There was a problem and they said they would get back to me. Last night they called and said a piece of hardware was defective and I should bring the car to the service center. I called and they said it was so new they had to call corporate and they would get back to me. It is 24 hrs and I haven't heard anything.
Lexus Link is not the most important thing, but to have 2 things go in 1 week is a lot.

Sorry you are encountering the hassles involved in the two issues. In my 10 days of ownership I have had neither of these or any other problems. I activated Lexus Link myself several days after the purchase without a hitch.

It's a brand new vehicle. There's going to be some minor things like this. As you say, the biggest headache is that your dealer is 25mi. away. That's something holding me back from getting a Lexus again. Nearest dealer is *90* miles away.

You pay 900.00 for it (hardware) and then you get the basics for 1 year. After that you pay an annual fee. It was part of the package, so I had no choice.
They can unlock your doors, detect if the airbag goes off, communicate with you etc. For an additional amount of money per year, they will direct you to your destination (if you can not figure out the nav system) do specialized traffic control and direct you to restaurants, gas stops etc. You can also make phone calls through Lexus Link. I believe they charge you by the minute.
So, of the free features (I paid 900.00 so I don't know why they keep calling it free) you can get some decent features. I have a year to decide if I want to renew it.

My dad's 4runner sensor came on, he took it to the dealer and they said everything was ok. Never heard from the sensor again.

I do know that up here in Canada, we have very few Lexus dealers. I know of one Toyota dealer about 150 km away from Toronto told me that they could get my father a Lexus and they will service it for him.
I have also been at the front desk of this dealer and a guy came up with a Lexus LX470 (04) and the service guy booked him in.
My dad eventually purchased an Avalon so everything worked but the dealer said that they could get him a lexus and will service it.
