How long from port?
Hey all this is my first thread on this forum. Anyways, we got a call from the dealership that my mom's LS460L will be arriving at port on Dec. 8th. I was wondering how long it usually takes for them to transfer a car from post to the dealership. Are the cars only delivered on the west cost or do ships come to the east cost as well. We live in michigan and are going to Florida around the 15-18th and would love to go in this new car. Do you guys think it will make it from the port to michigan by that time? We talked to the Dealer, but they say they don't know when it will get to the Dealership, but probably around X-mas which I think is kind of a long time for the car to travel if it arrives on the 8th. Thanx for your input guys. Hopefully we get it soon and I can post up some pics of this beauty .

From port to dealership my GS350 took about 11 days to deliver. The dealership quoted me 2 weeks (14 days) so I was glad to get it in 11. I believe there are 4 ports, Portland OR, Long Beach CA, Jacksonville FL, and I'm pretty sure there's one in the Northeast (probably NYC). Once the car arrives at port it'll take a few days to process it, and as soon as it ships from the port the dealer should be able to give you (its on the "Vehicle Inquiry Report" the dealer has for your car) a projected delivery date (again, mine quoted 2 weeks). Factors like weather (hope for no major ice storms, blizzards, etc.), railway/trucking traffic problems, etc., can impact the date.
I know the anticipation you're going through as that was me 8 weeks ago. I was so anxious, I even went so far to find out what ship my car was on (again, its on the Vehicle Inquiry Report) it was being shipped on. Then I found a website (see link below) that tracks ocean going ships. I just had to know when my car had arrived on US soil. Crazy huh! I don't know how people wait for 3 or more months when they order one.
Anyway, that will give you something to do between now and when the car arrives. Enjoy and can't wait to see the pics when you get her.

Thanx a lot for the info, I really appreciate it. Yeah the waiting is the worst part lol. The funny thing is, however, that the lease on my mom's RX ends almost at the exact time that this car should arrive so we got luck.

As a fellow Midwesterner, my LS460 was in port on the Monday 20th and I picked it up on this past Tuesday the 28th. Since Thanksgiving was in between I figured it would take even longer than the two weeks promised, so I was surprised to have it arrive so soon.
Hopefully you won't have to wait much longer - it will be well worth it!
