I just turned 40 and I have wanted an LS since the beginning in 1989. I had to settle for Acura Legends (88 and 93) and then a couple of other Suv's and then my 06 RL which I am trading in for my new LS LWB coming this next week. So I would definitely say that the average age is definitely going to come down towards the low 40's based on what I see so far. I would say that the LS is for anyone who likes the look and features of the car and can afford one.

The LS is my wife's car and she is 25 but she complains that she feels old driving this car, so for christmas I will buy her a Mercedes SLK55 AMG.

You can not be too young. I'm 33 right now and this is the 2nd LS I own. When I was 14, I was driving around my parent's 560SL and 500SEL. At 16, they bought me a 300CE. Throughout the years I owned Mercedes C, E, S-series, BMW 3 series, Audi 4-series, LS, LX, etc. Not to mention I had over 20 Japanese sports cars. But, I never did bought any exotics, it's just personal preference.

You already have an LS, so I am guessing you will trade in your current one for the latest model?

Very nice car!

Like others have said, if you like something, go for it. Don't let others' thoughts, perceptions dissuade you from getting what you want.

I was 16 in a LS400.
I am now 18 in a LS430.

I look forward to a LS600 if the interior appointments are vastly upgraded versus the LS460.

Does this answer your question?

There may be many things afoot for the household automotive footprint.

Our LS may be sold for a newer beater / daily driver. Likely 2004/5 LS430 Ultra, 07 ES350 or GS350.

Next year the GS will be sold or parted and replaced by LS460 or possibly GS460 (will be waiting to see what new GS holds).

Krista's Porsche 996 (2003) and BMW E30 track car may both be sold for a newer track car (either M3 or 993 turbo).

Sorry, taking Luxofreak's thread off topic

You mean your parents look forward to an LS600 if the interior appointments are vastly upgraded versus the LS460 and you look forward to them allowing you to drive their car.

You are masterfully skillful at just 'happening' to leave out keywords in some of your posts (and your sig).

I mean, you may not see it as important. But if I thought a 16 year old actually had already BOUGHT two LS cars and was looking at buying a third... I would think 'man this guy really likes the LS and apparently has the money for it at a very young age'... but if your parents bought the cars and you just happen to enjoy driving them - that's a pretty different story. That means you didn't necessarily like the cars enough to spend your own money buying them - you just don't mind driving them.

Because let me tell ya - when I was 16, I liked driving my parents Taurus. Heck, just driving anything was better than nothing. But if they had given me the money to buy a car and let me choose, of course I wouldn't have bought a Taurus.

Would you buy an LS460 or LS600 for yourself if your parents gave you that much money to spend on a car for yourself? For 60 to 100k bucks I can think of a lot of other cars I bet you might consider first - if not go for something cheaper and keep the money.

I don't think my dad or mom really cars since I'm going to be the one driving it

Anyways, I'm not some kind of poser or anything, I love to contribute on these forums and I think it's slightly silly to discount my opinion just because of my age -- shouldn't you be looking at my credentials first? I've got plenty of experience with an LS400, drove one everyday for a year. I've got plenty of experience with the LS430, I drive one everyday now. I've driven a ton of other 'luxury' sedans and I'm young (meaning I can discern the differences between them all), not to mention I'm credible (I'm an admin at MBworld) and I'm unbiased (I hate all cars).

As for buying an LS if I had my own money, of course I would. As far as business goes I do the 'meet and greet' with the clients and it would look bad if I showed them around the stores in a Mitsu Evo MR...

Dave, if it means anything the LS Ultra is probably one of the best cars ever made. It's relatively fast (5.9sec 0-60), floats over the road in comfort mode, has a split personality with the airsuspension and the sport setting and it looks nice! A lot more than I can say about any other sedan.

No, it just the way you approach us acting as if you worked and earned all that money on your own to drive one of the best cars in the world.

Whoops, sorry, I was just answering the grandparent posters question.

What's the average age of LS-460 owners?
