This is better than the brochure! I just wish it had high-res pics like the brochure. But anyhow, this is great. It's like visiting Lexus.jp only this time (for me), I can read the technical specs as well!

Love the details that really illustrate how amazing a car this is.

Thx!

I wonder why on earth Lexus decided to leave out of the US model of the LS some exciting features that the European LS boasts: pedestrian detection, lane assist system, steering wheel-mounted camera, etc.! It it because they feel the US is such a captive market that they didn't need to provide any extra enticements?

Just my guess, *I think* they are taking home less money per car from the USA market than from elsewhere because of the current weak US currency, but they also have to price it "right" relative to their competitors here since USA is their most important market, so I guess they want to leave out some features (the less important ones?) in order to keep the price here at where they want them to be . . .

In Europe, they don't have nearly the same price advantage anyway, probably due to high tariffs etc. for imports there, plus they don't plan to sell that many there anyway, since they don't have a diesel version there for the LS, & the market in Europe for a V8 gasoline sedan is very small compare to a diesel version . . .

I agree. There has to be a sound financial reason for this, from their perspective.

There is a strange situation in Europe too. Lexus offers Advanced Pre-Crash, stereo camera, pedestrian detection, driver monitoring etc. only in central Europe. In northern, eastern Europe and in Spain, Portugal those systems are not offered either. Maybe it is so because of the extreme hot/cold climate conditions in those countries and Lexus wants first to test them in normal climate. I guess US and those European countries will get those systems with LS600h or facelifted LS500.
