Cost of the Optional Chrome Wheels
I have a brochure for the dealer options available for the 460 that indicates the cost of the chrome wheels, 18" that is a dealer option, is about $2000. Has that increased to $3000? Could someone check with their dealer?
Today, I was told by my dealer that it was about $3000 and that if I got them installed on my 460L before delivery I'd get a $1000 credit since I wouldn't be taking the original wheels, so that the cost of the new chrome wheels would be $2000. Is this correct? Shouldn't it be $1000?

The dealer's explanation makes no sense, but the bottom line is that the cost of the new rims should be $2000 (that's the cost on the Lexus web site, by the way), and that's what he said it would cost me, so all is well.

crome wheels
I just got my car @ 3 weeks ago...the dealer charged $2000 for the crome wheels. What they do is pull your wheels off and put the tires to the side...and simply exchange them with a set of already dipped wheels. Your orginal wheels "cores" are then given to the dipper for the next purchaser.
PS- my local dealer...big rip off in Newport Beach, Ca...was charging $2k for the chrome wheels..I had an order for my car but upon visiting the dealer, noticed that they raised the price to $3k. Yet ALL the other Lexus models..including the large LX wheels...were still $2k. Asked why and he just shook his head. Went outside, called Longo on my cell and ordered the car from them. Best experience. He delivered the car to my house...spent the next 2+ hours going over all the stuff. If you are going to pay MSRP...go with a quality dealer.

Are these 18" teleos wheels actually "chrome" wheels or not? The web site says they are alloy wheels, with no mention of the word "chrome". Are they as shiny as real chrome wheels?

I will post pics when I get the rims in about 2 weeks. In the mean time I HAVE seen the car in Obsidian like mine with factory Chromes and it looks GREAT!!!
Well worth it until I find some other kind of rim on an LS460 that I like. I am going to wait a while for the new rims to see what others look like.

I am taking delivery of my LS460 next week. We are then driving to LA to get the chrome rims exchanged for my car and my wife's IS350. $550.00 each set of 4... $1,100 for both cars.
