I tinted the back dark and the sides medium but after a week I asked them to remove the back tint. Not only was it too dark, even in the daytime, but it was almost impossible at night. At Night it also decreases light coming in the back and activating the sensors that darken the outside mirrors. So in effect you could see less out the back window and headlights would shine in your eyes from the side mirror without much relief from the electrochromic tinting that would otherwise occur.
Other than the aesthetics, I don't think the rear tinting is advisable or necessary in view of the electrically operated sunshades that are present.

THANKS !! This one and my VERT are my surrogate children (don't tell my daughter)
They are tinted .. I didn't want to go too dark .. nothing over the legal limit (don't need any problems with LE ... or, more importantly, have any problems seeing out the windows)

we did 20%, mostly because with the alabaster (white) interior, it is much brighter than most. and, because the florida sun can be pretty killer.
this pic was taken around 5:30/6:00pm and you can easily see my husband sitting in the driver's seat.
i don't know the name of the tint off the top of my head, but can get the info is someone is interested. Sun something.
