Wind Noise Test

possibl fix to the noise problem
I just got my LWB last week and I faced the same problem you guys metion. I faced the same problem with my old 94 GS300 and at that time I solved it by doing the following: 1. Close the window with auto roll up 2. Lightly roll down the window with a flick of a finger (a gentle push down on the button). I tried it with my new LS and it works. I know it is a fix only but at least it works.

Those of you with this issue need to lobby hard for a resolution and assume nothing. The explanations given for this in the LS I have read shared here by LS owners, the hope offered if enough of you might complain, areodynamic dialogue, are all too close to actual like kind explanations, false hope offered, other excuse experiences of ES350 owners and nearly 10 months later still have no remedy offered---Same as LS owners for ES owners with this annoying issue, starting at or around 45mph and intolerable at +/- 70 mph, you will find no technical bulletin as remedy even after this length of time to ultimate insult of forced to accept the wind noise with a claim by Lexus it is a normal characteristic of the ES350. Best wishes in seeking an actual resolution rather than false hope or off-the-wall explanations.

I'm not sure what your argument is with that. Have you found other ES350's in the same model year that don't have the same wind noise? If so, you might have an argument. Otherwise, you simply have a car that doesn't live up to your expectations. Some makes/models are more quiet than others. That doesn't make it an engineering or manufacturing defect, it just means that it is the best the manufacturer could do with the price-point and target market. The ES350 doesn't corner like a Porche Carerra either. If that's what you're looking for, buy a Porche.

No, they do not all have it and when present the intensity can vary. The price point issue did not fly when presented to ES owners and I'm certain will not fly for LS owners at nearly twice the price.
Indy:
Your observations are not so different than the benefit to reseating the gaskets yourself if inclined outlined on ES forum by owners, though it sounds so simple as though how could it allow any benefit, it does, in my experience and experience shared by other ES350 owners, knock the volume of wind noise back slightly though certainly not entirely.

I guess I was right after all, I knew it was just a matter of time and LS460L owners would start posting about wind noise. Hey! what is the deal about no clear coat on the Obsidian paint?
Automotive Aerodynamic- A study where by you attempt to reduce drag, wind noise and undesired lift forces at a high speed.

Try this
Please forgive this sounding stupidly obvious, I just purchased an LS 460 L. I also have an 04 LS430. Try this - turn off the fan on your heater / air conditioner. What I thought was wind noise was actually the rushing of air hitting the inside of the windshield from the dashboard vent....
My only complaint so far is the harsher ride of the LS 460 L compared to my LS430. I do only have 200 miles on it so far

Yeah, I've tried it, but the noise is still there. I did that when I first heard the noise. It did help some. Still no word from the dealer...
Might have to wait for another survey to come in the mail. I would bet Lexus monitors this board as well...

Wind And Tire Noise
I took my swb LS 460 in yesterday for wind noise and tire noise I have a early post. The service manager called me this morning apologizing for not being there yesterday. He was at a regional meeting with Lexus. Although this was previously scheduled the wind noise is of major concern to LEXUS. But unlike the post about replacing the glass with the glass from the L"S he said LEXUS does not have anything definite yet. They told him around May he will hear from them. They also lowered the tire pressure to around 36 psi which helped a little. This is getting ridiculous taping mirror holes, tires so loud that the trucks sound better, but some of you know that the passing truck sound comes right thru the door. When I asked why my car had cheaper windows he said what do you expect for $60,000. I then corrected him informing him my SWB cost $73,000. I might have expected engineering in the field from GM or Ford but LEXUS.........I was a seven series BMW customer why do I feel like I bought a prototype.
