Talking ok..if you like XM radio/traffic, but can't afford it..

There's a deal right now. I got it off one of the internet forums and called XM and it worked..

It's $77 for ONE YEAR, and i paid $44 extra for a year of NAV traffic.
Steps:
1. Goto your LS and tune to channel 0 on XM radio.
2. Write down the station name which is the Radio ID
3. Call 800-998-7900
4. Say you saw a postcard for XM for $77 and you want that deal.
5. If they say anything, just say you cannot afford the regular price.
6. They will offer you the $77 deal then, if not, just say thanks and hangup
7. If successful, enjoy, if not, call back and talk to a different staff.

Default Thanks for the tip

I had to call twice, but it worked the second time... You have to tell them
you received the card in the mail. They have no way of checking. The first
time I told them a friend got the offer.

Ring........

Hello, XM? Yes, I just bought a $81,000 car but I am unable to afford the yearly fee of $155.40. Could I please have the indigent rate of $77?

What, my income?

Well currently I'm on a fixed income of $800,000 a year. I'm barely able to pay my country club fees (considering how much I've lost on all my side bets).

What do you mean I don't sound that "poor"?

Last Christmas we had to reduce our housekeeping staff from 6 to 2 (well actually 4 were rounded up by Immigration).

Well if you're going to take that attitude, I'm switching to Sirius!

Dial tone.........................................

Just joking with you joedaddy, I will certainly try that when my LS 460 comes in!

Funny. It reminds me of the time I held a garage sale with a brand new Jaguar sitting in my driveway. It made it real hard to hold out for that last fifty cents on an item when they said "look at that car...why are you haggling over fifty cents?"

This list is just the Lexus. I've gone through about 50 different cars in the last 7 years. Still not equal to the number of shoes my daughter has in her closet.

I called. I asked for a year to start after my 3 month free trial period for the $77 yearly rate plus one year of Traffic - in my case $47.88. Puls Sales Tax. No problem.

Well after having fun at Joedaddy's expense, its my turn. My free trial is up in about a month. Is this procedure still valid?

You won't know until you try. I hope it's available after my year is up at Joe's price. It worked like a charm for me... The worst they could say is no...

Good luck!
