Default GS 350 Nav vs. LS 460 Nav?

I am trying to decide -- and probably will keep trying to decide for the next 3-6 months -- between buying a GS 350 or an LS 460.

Does anyone know how the navs compare? Sure, one (GS) is DVD based and one (LS) is HDD based, but this is just an implementation issue. Forgetting about the ability to record audio tracks on an LS with ML, the XM traffic and the slightly larger size, what other differences, if any, are there between the two systems?

I believe the system operation of the two is virtually identical with the exception of the XM Traffic. I have an IS and the GS350/IS systems are the same. And I have driven an LS and the nav/audio/climate control all seemed exactly the same as my IS.

I beleive the screen is larger in the LS and there are a few details that are different, but I'm 100% certain I could get in anyone's LS and use the nav without any trouble.

I have owned both the GS430 and now the LS460. The NAv in the LS is much quicker since hard drive based. Also the points of interest are much more and the screen resolution is at least 4x finer than the GS

I spent a lot of time at dealers today comparing the two. I believe the 2007 GS has the exact same resolution as the 2007 LS. (2006 GS didn't have a fine as a resolution as the 2007 GS.) The main difference I noticed was that the LS has a larger screen. Interestingly, ithe LS screen appears much larger when the car is off, but, when looking at both screens when they are on, the LS only feels a little larger. Of course the LS did have the XM traffic.

thanks for the correction on screen resolution-I was comparing a 2006 GS to the 2007 LS. I still believe the Nav with a HD (LS) is noticeably faster response and a larger database than a DVD based NAV (GS)

Default is there a way to adapt the XM Nav to the other...

....cars (IS ES GS etc.) built in Nav systems? Will Lexus offer that in the future models any time soon? That is a pretty cool thing to have with all the traffic info. I think if i could afford it, i'd get the LS based just on that - not to mention the fact that the LS is SWEEEEET!!!

I am really hoping the traffic info, et al trickles down to the rest of the Lexus lineup, although I think it will be awhile...
