Default My dealer asking 5k over MSRP.

I'm in Louisville, KY and my dealer is asking 5k over MSRP, not to mention they don't have any in stock. Are these cars that scarce or is it just my dealer in particular?

call lexus corporate and tell them.

its against Lexus' internal rules to markup pricing over MSRP and if the dealership is found doing that they will be heavily penalized and if they dont stop they will lose the privelage to sell Lexus vehicles.

I'm sure they are not charging $5K over sticker. They are just doing the sleezy trick of putting on $5K rims and saying you must buy the car with their overpriced rims (or some other $5K item)

yea, thats legit. but every dealer of every make does this. at elast Lexus has some sort of a leash over their dealers, who remembers when beverly hills BMW put a $50,000 markup OVER the MSRP of the ~$105,000 M6 convt.

threatening would prolly not be the best idea because they can just change their asking price and then what proof will you have?

Have them give you a quote in writing, if they are unwilling to do that, report them to Lexus and find yourself another dealer.

Default $5K over .........

It is called and "ADM" or "ADA" (stands for Additional Dealer Mark-up or Addemdum ) and alot of unscruplist deals will do it on a "In Demand" unit ......... the LS 460 and 460L are very much in demand but not unobtainable ............ 2 things must happen to have a ADA/ADM either they added on wheels, or some sort of additional Package, or they uses it as a Advertising ploy on the floor " LOOK, Mr/Mrs Customer .... this LS cost $77K ....... BUT, will give it to you at $72K , [ Not real Numbers] "

If they are just adding $5k to the MSRP with no additions or arn't willing to come down on that price to MSRP then it is Illegal as far a Lexus is concerned and the dealership can lose there Franchise.

Better yet just find another Lexus dealer that will handle your purchase more professionally and see that MSRP is met. We here do not play that game and have never sold a Lexus over MSRP!!!! It isn't good business......

As I said in another post, I have actual proof of a $25K markup, on top of about $3K in extras. While nobody was looking, I snapped a couple shots with my camera phone. I just have to get it on my computer so I can post it. They offered it to me at sticker since I bought 4 or 5 cars from them in the past. I got a better deal on a better car from Newport Lexus. They gave me a $2K discount and I am a new customer with them.

Maybe you should consider sending the picture to Lexus Corporate ...

There is no need to pay MSRP on an LS460 any more. There are plenty of cars in dealer inventory and they are not selling that fast. To get an idea of what one smaller LA dealer has in stock, go to www.lexusofcerritos.com. I just checked a few minutes ago and they had 17 in stock, with about half SWB and half LWB models.

Any dealer that wants a premium over sticker and doesn't even have any in stock is just a small time dealer that doesn't deserve your attention.

Anyone renewed on this offer while still on the 3 months trial subscription? Would XM start the $77 year after the 3 month trial?

Sorry - posted on the wrong Thread. I meant to post on the XM Traffic $77 offer.

Yes, I did... Tell them you received the post card yourself, don't tell them a friend told you about it or they won't hook you up...
