I must be crazy
My wife really wants an IS350 and we are thinking about trading in the LS460 for one. She already had an IS350 6 months ago and she loved it but I talked her into getting the LS460 since the IS was too small and we had no other vehicle that was worthy of hauling multiple passengers and luggage. Fast forward 6 months and we've already put 9K miles on the LS and it was a couple of long trips and mostly just around town. So, I just got a Toyota mini van for hauling passengers and luggage now and she wants the IS back instead of the LS. Sooooo I'm thinking if she wants an IS350 it would be a lot cheaper per month than I'm paying for leasing an LS460 plus I'm easily going to go way over my miles on the LS lease if we keep up this pace. I'm thinking I won't get killed on a trade because the LS460 is so new that it would have good resale value. Anyway, go ahead and tell me I'm nuts.

Get her the IS350. There will be no peace until you do.

Well from a practical standpoint, if the numbers add up and you feel that you have the capabilities covered (larger capacity etc) with the Sienna (and having had a Sienna for years, it IS fantastic too), and if you find that trading in the LS for an IS will make everyone happier, then by all means...
Just make sure that you won't regret trading in the LS 460...the IS is also a Lexus, but it's not the flagship...

That's the part I'm having the most trouble with. I love the Nav Traffic, Better quality leather, better fuel economy, more of a special car, etc. Although maybe it's a cop magnet because I've gotten 2 speeding tickets in it and talked my way out of a third one. Never gotten a ticket (knocks on wood) driving a Porsche.

Both cars satisfy different needs.
If you get the IS, you'll have the sportiness and functionality of a compact car, without the big car note payment. You do have your Porsche though, so you may not need the IS...
If you keep the LS, you'll have the luxury accommodations and prestige, that none of your other cars will provide. And nothing surpasses the technology of the LS.
I say, keep the LS. Give the keys of the Porsche to the wifey.

Keep the LS and get her the IS350.... I got my LWB 460 back in December and I got my wife the IS350 the week before I got my LS to make sure that all was good on the homefront. They are both great cars but there is nothing like the LS. The IS is sporty and all but not the ride and features of the LS.
Good luck with your decision.

For certain, you will lose the depreciation (aka profit margin). My wife wanted the IS, any IS, but I won. The catch? I'm the designated chauffeur, and she likes that. Alas, she looks distant nowadays sitting in the back seat, with a homemade glass divider between us, and I in my new black suit & peaked cap. It's a job...

Homemade glass divider? How do you fit that in between the front and rear cabin on the LS 460?
Back on topic, again it's what's best overall...keep the LS 460 or trade for an IS 350. Or wait for IS-F. Just kidding about the last one.

This is true. She is letting me get a GT3 after all. So, she might as well drive what she wants to drive.
