Haha... no carpet. 
It's a proprietary polymer finish done by a company called premier garage. In this pic you can see a little better, those are all 1/4 in dry paint chips over a layer of moisture blocker and another layer of that polymer. Finally a glossy clear coat (which is the same polymer without any color) is applied over the chips and walla... Not even battery acid will harm the floor now.
