I really like the ML sound system, the auto-closing doors, and the power reclining back seats.

Luxo, leave the car in gear when you shut the engine off and it goes straight to accessory mode leaving radio on or bluetooth connected. The downside is that you have to manually set the parking brake. I didn't like the idea of shutting off the engine while in gear, but its in the manual. Still don't like the idea, so I put it in neutral first, set the parking brake, then shut it off.

Nospin, the auto trunk feature is one of the customizable settings that the service center can change for you. You should have received a pamphlet when you picked up the car, listing the options that they will set for you once for free. After that, there's a charge.

Dsc07, its not the remote function I was referring to, its the actual time it takes the trunk to open, and then to close. A friend of mine has a S500 and the automatic trunk operation on that car is fast. The trunk opens and closes in about 2 seconds.

I don't mind the closing time, but when you are holding stuff and waiting for it to open, it seems to take forever.

You are right, it seems like forever when you are waiting but I love the feature!

Is the opening speed the same as on the RX? I think the RX trunk speed is fine.

Other favorite features of mine, I do like the NAVI as others have mentioned, also the power sunshade. Always liked the folding side pockets as well.

That's precisely why I had mine shut off (the remote still unlatches it, just doesn't raise/lower it). To be honest, I never really saw the point of it in the first place. It takes almost no effort to lift or lower it and it takes 2 seconds vs. 10. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Dsc07, I'm looking at the custom settings sheet and I can't find that option. Other than standard, the choices are press button once, press twice, or the button is turned off so the trunk cannot be opened using the remote. Is there some other setting that I'm missing?

Although even though I don't like the slow speed, I don't think I would want that function shut off. I do like the automatic closing.

My favorite option is the radar cruise. It even picks up and detects motorcycles.

Welcome to Club Lexus, wagwizard!!! I have yet to try the radar cruise myself but it certainly is one of the most advanced features on there...some posters here have mentioned this feature as well as one they use quite often.

I love the feeling I get when I sit in this car after a long day. I just feel the stress melt away and immediately feel more relaxed. I have never had that feeling before in any other car that I have owned.

All - this is a great thread for me! I am in "wait mode" while my 2008 LS460L is built and shipped - hoping for delivery late Sep/early Oct.

Hearing all this great feedback on the car somehow makes the wait more tolerable!

It is definitely worth the wait!
