I figured that if the car hadn't shown in 4.5 months, and the dealer was unable / unwilling to provide any sort of delivery date, it was likely that the order had never been placed. Since we were now well into May, I decided that waiting for an end-of-the-year LS was a mistake. I canceled the order, and eventually got my money back. Found another way to spend the money, and put off the Lexus purchase for a bit.

The dealer rightfully refunded the deposit. Hopefully your next purchasing experience will go through more smoothly! For some reason the special order process as documented on CL is an on-off affair.

I'm kinda wondering because I ordered my LS from the same dealer as Masshelti. The salesman did call last Monday to say they expected the car in a week to 10 days, which means any day now.

Actually even if it comes in tomorrow, I won't close until Monday July 2nd since that will save me about $115 in excise tax.

I got the call today that the car is in!

I'll take care of all the paperwork Friday and pick it up on Monday.

He ordered his car on March 7th of this year, so the wait was approximately four months.

We ordered the car back in November for my mother. 460L, with Lux Package, Pre-Collision, AVS/VGRS, Lex Link, Adv. Park Guidance & Mark Lev. Smoky Granite Mica w/ Black interior. Was told the above car would come in July, delay due to Pre-Collision. If we ditched the Pre-Collision option could get a car sooner, decided to stick with Pre-Collision. Well to my surprise, my cell rang today and the car will be ready for pickup this Monday. So if anyone ordered the LS with Pre-Collision they should be arriving. So Monday I get to go with my mom & get her into the Lex and out of the POS S600.

Gatorcb, Enigma is right on the mark. I ordered the car on March 7th. At the time the dealer told me that my order wouldn't go in until the end of March. They said it would come in late June to early July, and it came in this Wednesday. So their estimate was spot on.

I went to the dealer today to pay for the vehicle and get all the paperwork done. The salesman brought the car out for me to see. Of course it hadn't been prepped yet, but it looked maaaaarvelous! It was exactly as I ordered it. The salesman gave me the set of encyclopedias (I mean the owners manuals) to review over the weekend. All these hard copy manuals and they still have to give you a CD tutorial!

GS430Guy's Mom and I are getting our cars on the same day. That makes us practically family!

I'll post some pics sometime next week if I can force myself to actually get out of the car!

Sounds good!!! BTW you can register yourself and the car online and the manuals are available, in sections, there as well should you prefer to read/search through by computer.

Glad to hear it is exactly as you special ordered it.
