2008 Ls 460
Hey Guys,
I'm looking into purchasing a 2007 SWB 460. However, one of the dealers mentioned the 2008 model was coming out soon. No real changes to the car but the "base" model MSRP might be going up. Can anyone confirm this? Would it be better that I just buy a 07 model rather than a 08? Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

Hey thx for the response. I've called 2 dealerships in regards to the wind noise and they're not really aware of such problem. Have they resolved this issue? Also, how BAD is the wind noise?

What has been done to resolve this problem?

Welcome to CL, SoCalKID! A fix for the wind noise issue is supposedly in the works, and we will likely know in a few weeks whether it is resolved. However, the wind noise issue is not on every single LS 460 model, as attested to by various owners on this board. It might be a good idea to test the car out on the freeway to see if the model you are interested in is fine. On pure speculation, it's quite possible the MSRP of the 2008 LS 460 will go up, given the high demand for the vehicle. There probably will be few changes to the vehicle, going by Lexus history.

Unless you plan on keeping the car over 6 years, buying the 08 is a no brainer from a financial perspective. Having gone through this many times, the increased value of having a year newer car at trade in time(one less year of depreciation) is greater than the increased cost of purchase of the car initially unless large incentives are being offered to clear out the leftover cars. It is pretty clear at least in my area there will be no firesale on leftover 07s. Buy the 08 and in addition to the financial benefit, you may get a car with the 07 kinks straightened out.

I doubt there will be a price increase. The usual normality for a 2nd MY car is for the price to stay the same or decrease a little because the "brand new" factor has worn off. I have never heard a salesman admit that the prices would be lower in the next MY because their bottom line is for you to purchase NOW.
