Just checked, you still can't "build" your LS600hL yet though ...

But the package prices are up.

We just don't know what type of regional allocations there will be...

We can build the LS600hL on the Canadian website weeks ago, . . . not that it matters to me

LOL, it's no guarantee I will get even the LS460L yet. I have been looking at the S550 more recently, & it's growing on me & I did find things I like about it.
I am still heavily leaning towards the LS, but I find myself more open to the S550 than before, I will talk to you more on pm, but it's mostly due to options packaging/availability.

Did anyone watch the videos? They loved showing the LS 600h L in slalom. No mention of the Driver Monitoring System though.

I've also considered the S550 4-matic over the LS600hL I have on order, but one of the the two tipping factors was the iDrive like COMAND system.

I use the NAV system a lot.

You lose a lot of capability that a touch screen has, such as being able to touch another point on the screen and finding out how far that point is from where you are. Touching a waypoint and seeing information about it. Scrolling around, while doable with iDrive/COMAND, is very awkward.

Still no driver monitoring and advanced pre-collision system (that helps steering to avoid obstacle, also popup headrests for rear collisions). Japan and Europe get them on even the LS460. Why not the US?

^^ I agree, here in US there are far more unskilled drivers than in Europe and South America. If any country needs nannys in their cars it should be USA - damn cup holders!!

The driver monitoring system is scheduled for U.S. debut, the reviews here have mentioned that. Perhaps the Lexus.com pages for the LS 600h L were prepared while that feature's inclusion was still in doubt, but reviewers have talked about it following their SoCal test drive.

Those were just pre-production prototypes they were driving. Guess we'll have to wait until the "build" page is available to see what they've truly got for the US.
