Default some regions get ls600h/ls600hl without led headlights?

http://www.lexus.com.hk/lexus_cars/l...case/index.asp

for example hong kong, someone just posted the link and i looked at it. the car doesn't have led headlights. that's kind of shocking (and sad)

does that mean led headlights can be put on the normal hid equipped car pretty easily?

Let's hope so, but I won't say it's 100% certain, they can build the 600h headlights for those markets like they are making them for the 460's here. Still no gaurantee they can be easily switched over, I would say it's probably likely though

Interesting observation, I hope they get the LED headlights as well. However someone did edit those photos to appear 'blue' yet with regular headlights.

A similar site, http://www.lexus-europe.com/lexus_ca...case/index.asp

shows the LED headlights on similar photos.

Default Doesn't surprise me...

Could be local restrictions that prohibit this type of automotive lighting. Hong Kong laws can be fickle if not archaic at times. Remember it's not too long ago in North America when the only type of lights that could legally be fitted to a car were the single H/L or the dual types. Only later were rectangular lights allowed, and eventually what we have now. Europeans were more advanced in shaping their headlights to suit the design of the car.

...not to mention, the LS 460/600h L in the U.S. does not have the Rear Pre-Collision system because of FCC regulations.

Singapore, the first country outside Japan to get the LS600hL also doesn't come equipped with the LED headlights. I also find it shocking as that is one major difference from the 460.

Some websites for reference http://www.carbuyer.com.sg/?s=testdrive_main&id=151
http://www.oneshift.com/news/news.php?view=1&newsid=550
Just look at the pictures and you will see the normal headlights.

Thx for the links, george1688. So it seems perhaps that some local regulations may affect the LED distribution, as Japan, Europe, and N. America all get it. I wonder if the LED lights will show up in Taiwan?

Default Hong Kong version of LS600hL :

I took this photo at a Lexus exhibit/display at the Ocean Centre in Hong Kong last week, yes, no LED headlights :

Look at the price tag at the left, it's HK$1,680,000 , it's a loaded Executive Package.

Even with the HK$ pegged to the US$ at around 1 : 7.80, it's still expensive even compared to the Canadian price of C$158,000 .

Yeah, they are now offering a C$12,000 manufacturer's cash rebate for the 600hL too, big deal (to address the big price differences between Canada & U.S. at current exchange rate)

One thing I do like about the LS600hL Exec. Package in HK is that they are putting on the 19" 8-spoke rims as standard, instead of the 18" they decide to put on the N.American versions of the 600hL Exec. Package

Those 19'' rims, of what is visible, seem quite nice. Thanks for the picture!

I believe in the latest issue of VIP Style magazine, it shows them changing a LS460 with all LS600 aesthetic parts. Yes, they even swapped the lights out. So it will work on a LS460.
