Question Wind noise poll - Important for future buyers

Hi,

It would be very interesting to know if people who bought an LS 460 lately (May or June models) have the wind noise problem.

This would help other people to decide to buy now a '07 or rather wait for the '08.

Default In addition

I'm considering the same thing. It would also be nice to know if
those who are having the true problem of wind noise, if they experience
it from day one. Is this something that was notable during your test
drive, or is it something that has developed over time? Thanks to
all that have brought this to our attention. I believe Lexus will take
care of the problem!

I bought one of the first 460's on the market. I did not have the luxury of a test drive and yes, I noticed it right away once I got on the highway or above 45 MPH. It's worse on windy days... I hope to have mine fixed soon...

I wouldn't let this keep you from buying the car. It's great other than the wind noise...

A week after ownership I detected what was an abnormal wind noise coming from both the driver and passenger front windows. on windy days and heading into any type of cross wind it is pretty bad but little to no wind it is tolerable and sometimes unnoticeable. The wind noise sound as if the window is slightly rolled down to a sound as if wind is being sucked in. The repair kit which includes the same glass as the LS460L and added insulation has been ordered for my car and my car may get repaired next week. The repair is out and I have heard more positive than negative but I will not know until my car is repaired.
Wind noise may not be detected during a test drive if you do not get the car up to 60mph and if there is no wind. I recommend a long test drive on the freeway, radio and AC/Heater off and no talking but keep in mind there is still a chance you may not detect it until later after you have had the car.
can u please get ur car fixed @ 7:00am, so we can know whether the "fix" really fixes it?

Default Wind noise

I just purchased a new ls460 this week. I also have a 2500hd silverado truck, a 2006 Corvette, a 55 chevy show car. The point is I know a little bit about cars and building and rebuilding them. I have no wind noise whatsoever. And believe me after reading all these posts about it I have looked for it!

i bought my ls460 on the 12th. The test drive was fine; i was aware of the wind noise issue (thanks to this forum and others) and i did take it on the highway. I had no wind noise.

Now 3 weeks later, i do have the noise. on the way home tonite which required us to take the highway, i twice pulled the the driver side window switch. I literally thought the window was not closed all the way.

why would the car go from "no wind noise" to the condition i experienced tonite? and it is on the passenger side too!!!

I sure hope they fix it so I can buy one. Won't even consider buying an LS at this point. I test drove an SWB LS460 and the windnoise was quite loud. The salesman said something to the effect that the only reason you notice the windnoise is because the car is sooo quiet LOL.
