can i get a step by step please?

i have a vx8500 (chocolate) phone from verizon. i tried the transfer phone book option to no avail. (the phone disconnects when car is trying to transfer.

Forget it. Verizon blocks data transfer via bluetooth. You have to punch in all your contacts one by one.

Some other folks on the web have gone to the extreme of another carrier (i.e cingular phone) that is cheap. Just buy the phone (no activation required), get the phone data into that phoe and use it's bluetooth capability to send the phonebook

Yup. I just picked up my car today and the salesman said my Verizon phone info couldn't be transfered. He tried anyway, but of course it didn't work.

I have a BMW X3 and X3 automatically transfer my phone contacts from my verizon LGVX8600 to its display.
My GX-470 ask me to send it from the Moble but I dont know how to send it.

I dont think its a verizon issue its more of a Lexus issue.

Verizon cripples the bluetooth data transfer. That's because of their greed, they want you to pay to transfer pictures, etc... so they blocked data transfer via bluetooth, and that includes the phonebook.

Having said that, your phone MIGHT be a model that verizon didn't crippled some bluetooth functionalities and you got lucky.

I gave Verizon the boot and switched to sprint, it transfers everything via bluetooth, no problems.
