Default LED lights on LS460

Does anybody know if lexus will have LED headlamps available on 2008 LS460? Also what has been done to fix wind noise problem on '08 models. Any replies appreciated. Thank you.

As far as I know, the LED headlights are only available on the LS 600H, not the LS 460. As far as the wind noise, I am going to take my car in for the repair on July 24th. Others have their cars in for the repair right now. The head tech at my dealer is on vacation, so I have to wait a while longer for the repair.

yeh...if i could afford the 600H, i would obviously get it for the hybrid system AND those cool LEDs. lol its a real selling point since nobody can really justify that price tag.

Well, price won't matter much I guess - anything over 100k is tapping demographics that don't really care about price, but about value.

The big question is... is there enough value on the 600h?

Replacement parts will be available as soon as the 600h is out. It may take a while to order it from Japan, but it will be available.

It will most likely cost a small fortune though...

It's possible they might not be able to be retro-fitted. This has come up with the Murcielago and LP640. The LP640 LED taillights have different circuitry that can't be retro-fitted. To my knowledge, no one has been able to do it.

On the other hand, it might be trivially easy but expensive on the LS460. Time will tell.

hey Phil
Did you mean 600h is out in U.S. As far as I'm concerned they only offer LWB in U.S.

I just shortened it.

The headlights for the 600h and 600hL should be the same.

As for retrofitting it on the LS460(L), it may be possible...

Aftermarket LED headlight kits will be available for many cars soon. I'm sure there's a race to bring them to market as we speak. Two months ago, I saw a modified A6 on Robsonstrasse (Vancouver) with a pair of quads. Needless to say, they were on, and they looked wicked...
