The fact that YOU can't really distinguish between the two cars is YOUR problem, not mine.

I can easily distinguish them a mile away in an instant, but I do think they should have gone a totally different direction from Lexus models with their design of the Toyota brand. They should have made the N.American Camry look like the Toyota Aurion of other markets for example, it looks better than the ugly nose American Camry & it does not resemble the Lexus models at all.

I've considered the Ford XJR, the Dodge S550, the Volkswagen A8 and even the Fiat Quattroporte, but in the end it boiled down to the Toyota LS 460's quality.

Last time I looked at the VW Touareg & The Porsche Cayenne, I could barely tell the difference, but I'm sure their owners know. And, the 1963 Ford Galaxie 500XL sure looked like the Ford Fairlane... I could name thousands of examples, but my brain hurts today. So how did you come up with that handle, dunnojack?

But who are we to debate corporate marketing strategies? Those Camrys (and ES350s) are selling like hotcakes...

Camry? WTF, doesn't this yo-yo realize that the LS is the same size (and somewhat look) of the Avalon, not the Camry! If your going to try to be a troll, the LEAST you could do would be to be a little more accurate!

PS - Avalon's suck IMHO

of course i can tell the difference. i know they're different in size. i know it costs a shatload more money to build.

but too many of the styling cues are too similar.

Actually, all joking aside, I think it's a valid question to ask those who drive Lexus ES series cars.

I like driving my Lexus LS460 Camry. I actually wanted the Camry really badly but got tricked at the dealership by the infamous bait and switch technique. They showed me the Camry but then ended up putting me in the LS at the end of the day and since they are SOOOOO similar I couldn't tell the difference until I was home. I am such a sucker!!!!

One day I aspire to own a Camry but right now I guess I just have to drive one of the nicest cars ever produced worldwide. Poor me

I know, luxury1. Why would you want to drive the 2007 World Car of the Year when you could have a camry?

Why do people bother getting mercedes benz or a Jaguar either? What a waste. Just get a Kia Opirus. They all look the same!
