Why no Memory Seat on the Passenger Side?
#17
Speaking of which, despite having discussed this topic repeatedly, there is one more question I'm wondering about:
No LS has ever had front passenger memory IIRC, but the ES/SC/others have...which Lexus was the first to have the front passenger memory?
By the way, the second commercial of this clip is the intro LS 400 driver memory ad:

I checked the specs for the LX 470 and it shows memory system for driver's seat only. I'm guessing then the SC 430 introduced front passenger memory, and was followed by the ES 300/330.

I've heard also in a past thread of the same topic that the Celsior/LS is always regarded as an executive car in Japan, & traditionally, the boss is driven & sit in the back(Executive Package or not), so I take it to mean the front passenger is usually not an important person.
But N.America is their biggest market, here, many executives drive themselves, with the "real boss" sitting next to him in the front, so I think they should have memory buttons for her as least for the models here.

There is also the Toyota Century which WAS above the Celsior, but it's a very old fashion Japanese car with a dated V12, but now it's dwarfed by the Lexus LS600h in price in Japan.

Actually the Crown is BELOW the Celsior, it's closer to the GS/IS in class depends on which version of the Crown.

in any case, yes, in japan (now) i think the LS is the highest class toyota/lexus. the century is there but it's such an old design. i know the royal family has one?

I have to disagree with 888 , the 99 update LS400 here in Aus had duel memory seats , it also came with HID headlights and the mirrors that tilt down when you put it in reverse .

That's definitely a bit weird , makes me question it !!
It's just that I have seen two or three late 98 to 00 LS400's advertised as having duel memory seats , not something one would get wrong ?

Of course it can be done, the RHD LS460 in Japan & other countries have them on their driver's side, which is our passenger's side front seat so I'm sure they can be readily installed at the factory.
