Tires FYI
Stopped by Lexus dealer for service today. Was checking current LS models in stock. New models are coming with Dunlop Super MaXX tires.
I noticed posts regarding Bridgestone tires which I have. Is there a problem with the Bridgestone? They seem to ride fine.

Mine are fine, although I don't have many miles on them yet and haven't pushed them. My wife has them on her Jag and they have been great as far as wear (38,000+ miles and plenty of tread left). She doesn't drive her car hard so I don't know about handling, and we take it off the road for winter so I don't know about snow traction.

I had them remove my Dunlaps because the ride was just too harsh. Lexus replaced them with the Bridgestones which are a much more comfortable riding tire. Based on my experience with my LS430, I'll be surprised to get much more than 20K out of the tire.

Mallory, I would rather have the Michelin's as well, but I'm stuck with the Dunlop tires for now. I'm glad you had them put the correct tires on your car.
The sidewall on the V rated tire is stiffer than the H rated tire. I hope they have the rest of your car put back together.

Hi Mallory, wind noise is gone. All I hear now is just normal turbulence. I have heard people complain about the Dunlop's, but the head tech said he hadn't heard about Lexus swapping tires. I guess I'm stuck with the Dunlop's. If they give me a problem, I will ask for the Michelin's. They let another tech drive my car and he must have been behind a gravel truck. My front bumper was covered with rock dust and I had a rock chip on my rear passenger door when I picked up my car. I'm waiting to hear from one of the managers at the dealership as to what they're going to do about it. They touched it up and asked me what I wanted done. My front bumper also has a lot of little nicks that I didn't have before. My windshield also has minor damage. I told them, only a new car was going to fix what was done. I'm not going to make a big deal about it, but that will be the last time they test drive my car without me in it. The head tech was busy with the Lexus rep and didn't have time to test drive the car himself. I know he also ran my car hard. I had terrible gas mileage when I filled up with fuel on my way home. I live 110 miles each way from the dealer. The dealership was Lexus of St. Louis...

Make them fix it good, and next time your car needs to be road tested Craig, or anyone else for that matter, tell them you want to be in the car to avoid these unnecessary events. It simply should not happen. I know and have heard of many owners who blatantly refuse to permit the dealership to perform road tests on their cars. Make them list this request in your client profile. After all, who but you knows precisely what wind noise the car had? Remember, most service guys out there are clueless about this problem.
