Speed Tones
I cannot find out what these speed tones are in the owners manual of the Navigation System or the regular owners manual. Under the speed dial area, there is a place to enter and name and save speed tones. What are these?
I have a number of phone numbers entered where I have entered the wait or pause after the phone number so that after the phone message answers, I have to hit that 0-9 button and then "send" (on that next screen) to send the remaining tones for extension, password. Can't understand why it doesn't work that it just pauses or waits and enters the tones automatically like cell phone do...unless I'm doing something wrong.
Help me out with my understanding in these two areas please. Thanks!!

Each number key on your cell phone produces a different tone when pressed. I believe that's a feature you can use to speed dial a number that will be associated to one of the keys on your phone. For example, you can call home by pressing "1" on your cell phone. The car would then interpret the tone produced by the "1" key as a command to dial the home phone number.

Thanks for the info..haven't tried it yet, but it seems strange if that is how it works that they didn't provide the ability to insert a pause or wait for the speed tones. It appears you can only enter numbers.

From one of my earlier posts:
The speed tones are not well described in the manual. I played around with the system after I read your post and basically it allows you to enter a string of predetermined numbers from a screen that you can access while in any call. You access the speed tones button by pushing the "0-9" button during a call.
If you have already programmed pauses into the number you cannot use speed tones.
