I don't know what you mean by upgraded, but I do have the rubber floor mats with the Lexus logo and all and I think they're a must have.

the rubber mats are all season mats, they are "upgrade" i believe.

all LS has floor mats come with it already. it's extra, but it's "standard". just like wheel locks

I don't use the standard carpeted floor mats; never understood why one covers carpet with more carpet, and they only end up looking tattered in no time anyway... I only use the all-weather rubber mats; they're much better, and I had them thrown in at the negotiation phase, along with many other "extras". Later when I sell the car, I'll put the carpeted ones back in.

Yep, we need all season mats with our weather here, the standard wool mats of my SC are never used.

Lexus does sell a premium carpeted mat for the LS 460. I have the Lexus all weather mats in my car, so I'm not interested in thicker carpeted mats... I had the all weather mats from Weathertech, but they didn't fit very well and I switched to the factory all weather mats that do fit.

That's good to know because the Weather Tech was what I was going to buy. I guess I'll get the Lexus ones.

Are the Lexus mats anchored to the floor so they don't slip back and forth?

Yes, the front mats have holes in them to anchor them to the floor. Yeah, the Weather Tech mats didn't fit well. You couldn't put the front seats back very far or the back mats would get caught when you move the seat back. The front mats were too wide. The Lexus mats look better and fit perfect...

And only cost twice as much!

Too bad the Weather Techs don't fit well. I've had the same pair in my Infiniti Q45a for over 10 years and they're still good.

Yeah, I've had them in my 4 other Lexus vehicles. They do last a long time. The front mats were OK, but the back mats did not fit right at all. I was able to trade them at the dealer. They had to order the factory all weather mats.

There are holes to tie down the Lexus all-weather mats, but it's a b*tch getting them in. I just turn the plastic hooks all the way back, and butt the mat up to them. On the other hand, the mats are weighted enough to use without the hooks. Yeah, they are the definitive choice, imho.
