lol, there is no car for me to bring "back" i was playing with demo at the dealership
i just watched your video. try not to touch the black area at the top or bottom at all. try to just touch the area of the map (top left bottom left top left bottom left)
if that doesn't work, then maybe the middleest version is different?

Service Menu
I own a U.S. LS460. I was able to access the service menu based on the previous posts. I had tried this before but I did not have any luck at that time. Here is a detailed list of the steps I followed to access the menu. This was the first time I was able to do it.
1. Enter vehicle and close all doors.
2. Press the "start" button -- your foot should NOT be on the brake.
3. This should start the accessories but not the engine.
4. Once the screen lights up, press the "I agree" button to make the lawyers happy.
5. You should be at the navigation screen now. At this point, press the "DISP" button.
6. A black bar should drop down from the top showing "DISPLAY" and a black bar should rise from the bottom showing CONTRAST.
7. Alternate pressing the upper left-hand and lower left-hand corners of the exposed screen. Do not press the black bars that were dropped into place when the "DISP" button was pressed but press on the area of the screen that is still visible "beneath" those black bars. continue alternating until the service menu pops up.
I tried this before but I had the driver's door open and I think that might have blocked it from working?
I did find some microphone settings to mess around with. I will experiment tomorrow to see if the adjustments I made had any impact.
I have had the car a few months now and it seems like recently, the handsfree service has stopped working as well. I also turned down the volume on the navigation system (it is muted now) and I wonder if that might have had an impact on the quality of the handsfree outgoing sound? I need to experiment more.
Let me know if you have any luck... or not!

Thanx a million + a Million More i seemed to touch the black area at the bottom thats what made it not to work. I also captured the screen in 2 videos.
Part1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r04C_NGtzko
I did not know how do i exit this menu there is no back or exit button so i had to turn the ignition off and back on every time but after experminenting it for a few more mins i found a way to exit that menu without turning off the ignition CHEERS .
Part2 (Exiting the Service Menu):
(Keep holding the "Display" button and the NAV will restart to normal.
This is what we want to improve "Soud settings". My default values were all set to "0"
i did some changes but still did not test if i have to shout again
so the other side will hear me. I tried
0
5
0
and it was perfect but Ill experiment and post back for
the best settings. i am still not sure what the last option
"Voice Quality Control" Does , doesnt seem to have much effect
to make other ppl hear you but the 2nd one surely does and "5"
is the max .
One more thing I can't do the overide trick that was on the LS
430, there is no such button when im in. If anyone has a
workaround on how to enter the address when the car is
moving please post it.

Thanx Buddy for posting the tutorial. After experimenting the procedure i found out it does not matter if the door was open or even if the car was moving or not.

Glad to hear it worked, uaexuae!
As for the override the other threads have mentioned, it requires cutting wires and other very technical and invasive procedures.
At least you got to access the hidden menu.

Thanks again guys for your help . Frankly speaking without
your instructions i wasnt even close. Basically there are a lot of
options in that Menu but after playing around theres only two
options that are really worth it. All other options are no use to
us. DVD player information, Codes, Clear Codes, etc.
1- Camera Settings.
( i had a look at the options but did not do any changes)
2- Handsfree Voice Quality Set
(so far my recent settings are as follows :
Receive Voice Level = 0
Send Voice Level = 5
Voice Quality Type = 0 <-- im not sure what it really does. I also looked in the manual but nothing.)
Im just wondering if US versions do have the override button to enter the
address when the car is moving. I hope mdmiller66 tells us whether they
are the same or not.

The US version does not have the override button, as others have mentioned in past threads.
Hopefully the microphone adjustment makes it easier for others to hear you on handsfree!

Sorry but there is no override button in the US version.
There is a screen that displays the speed of the car. (I think this was under NAV sensors?) but it only displays the speed. It does not allow any changes.
I guess we have to keep looking.
Has anyone tried to connect a PC to the connector in the driver's footwell?
I found some software that can be downloaded from the web. I wonder if that would provide more options?

mph the other is km/h.
I thought connecting a PC to the connector is only possible at the dealers.
May you tell us what that link is. So everybody interested gives it a shot.
