im not sure why they made you tow it home and then tow it back. that is obsurd to me, our dealership stocks smart keys just like yours should. I would talk to the svc manager then the new car sales manager then talk to the gm. they may good will labor and you buy the keys but you should have 2 keys.
I still would call the road side number and tell them to tow it since you didnt receive an adequate amount of keys. you should get 2 no matter what. I work for the 10th ranked dealership in the country for customer satisfaction and I cant believe some of the stories i hear on here.

I am considering to forget about the 400 dollar wireless looking remote control push start key and considering to get a flat key would my car start if i get the key? (sorry about this guys I just got this car for about 1 week and havn't plaed around with most of the features)... I recently moved to another state and left the lexus book with all the keys somewhere and lost my push start key... does lexus offer a temp key until the push start key is obtain for me?

The Smart Card flat key is the same as the remote key in terms of SmartAccess functionality. However the regular functions (button-wise) I'm not sure. This thread has more details:

The Smart Card however is more expensive than the standard SmartAccess key fob.
I don't know if a temp key can be offered, and any temporary key would just unlock the car, you need a transponder to activate the engine.

In my opinion none of this should cost you a penny since the dealer was supposed to give you 2 keys in the first place.

The regular mechanical key that comes inside the electronic key fob will only unlock the driver's and front passenger's doors. It will not start the car. You must have the electronic key to start the car.

Yes, there are keyholes. They're tucked underneath the front door handles. You don't actually see the hole because there is a plug to keep out dirt and moisture.

Oooops, I guess you have to be signed it to use that link. Well anyway, its p. 594 of the Owners Manual.

And you have important information you need ONLY in the car's nav? Do you back up your PC?

Hopefully the manuals are not locked, that would require the mechanical key portion of the key fob.
It's also probable that in addition to the NAVI info, the OP would naturally like the functionality of his car back. I hope he gets a new set of keys programmed soon....2 this time.

wait...this is so confusing. I would be yelling at the dealership at this point.
1) you only got one key
2) they made you do two uncessary towings (which you should have called lexus roadside since its free)
3) "they dont have any key fobs since the car is too new" - its been out since september of last year...
4) nobody seems to be giving a damn at the dealership
p.s. how could you lose both keys? lol.
