Discount on 2007 LS460
Now that the 2008's are almost here what level of discount would be reasonable for remaining 2007's?
The D.C. area has several Lexus dealers.

Congratulations on your new car. Thanks for the info. If you don't mind, when was your car built? Do you have any wind noise?

Fully loaded 07 LS460 had an MSRP of 74K. Are you getting the auto-parking and reclining/conditioned rear seats? 7000 off looks like a good deal. It's like invoice+$3000. Just make sure there is no wind noise.

Dealer said that APG always comes with Comfort Plus package. I also see 2 additional options that added another grand to my cost - Intuitive ParkAssist ($500) and Power doors and trunk closers ($395). MSRP was 73K plus the delivery charge. Got it for 69K. Your deal is definetely better.
But before you make the jump, take it out for some extended test drive. My first impression was clouded with overwhelming amount of gadgets and brevity of the test drive. But once I've bought it, and drove it for a few hours, I realized that I don't like too many things about this car -
1. The suspension is too soft. It feels like riding on a cloud and I want a more down-to-earth feeling.
2. Drive-by-wire steering doesn't have enough feedback. Again, driving is not fun. It's rather dull. Braking also doesn't inspire confidence.
3. Noise-insulated cabin is perhaps too insulated.
4. A low-frequency wind rumble appears at high speed (not the high-pitched whine thakfully)
5. The audio system sucks at reproducing the bass properly. And if I don't push the mids all the way down, I get ear fatigue in 5 minutes of listening.
6. Motion lock-out renders navigation useless. I am using Garmin Nuvi 660 until I get the override solution installed
7. Some audio and nav system interfaces and features are annoyingly ill-designed. Too many screens and navigation between them is illogical. If you used any other GPS software in the past, you will find this one confusing at first.
Since I am stuck with this car for the term of the lease, I am learning to like it. But I probably wouldn't have bought it again. It's a great car overall, but the devil is in the details. Just too many small things to hate.

Lots 'o '07's
Just got home from JM Lexus in Margate, FL. They still have more than 30-40 '07 LS's on their lot. I counted just 2 '08's. Shannon if you're reading these posts...you're the best! She sold my in-laws their RX350 last month. Awesome deal!
Still going to wait a while and order an '08 LS. I'm hoping the Sirius/XM merger goes through by December so I can keep my Sirius account. Don't care for XM.

The thought had crossed my mind. However, the German offering also has a lot of things I dislike. Single-**** (iDrive) interface is confusing and useless for data entry. Navigation system in MB is ancient. I wanted a touch-screen and that only comes with Lexus or Acura. Being a geek that I am, I went for the highest gizmo-to-price ratio. Lexus delivered. Unfortunately the quantity didn't translate to quality
Why do you get this impression? I am a software engineer.
