Paint chips on front of LS460
I was on another board and was reading about several folks who have bought the LS460 and they have a lot of dings and paint chips on the front end of their cars. Seems the 460 has more problems than they have had on their other cars. Question, I have seen the clear bra that you can get put on the car, but if you look close, you can see the line where the bra stops. Would it make sense to have your entire hood coated with the bra and can you take these bra's off at some point if you wanted to sell the car?

get the bra no questions asked. the chips are common to all lexus cars because lexus' paint is up to the future environmental standards that sooner or later all car manufacturers will have to implement. the paint they use is weaker against paint chips but is more environmentally friendly.
yes you can remove it. its suppose to be very simple to do so. btw dont just do the hood, you can get it on your bumper and even your side mirros. lol

Yes, definitely get the clear bra including the entire front bumper as well as the side mirrors. Don't know if they do the entire hood. It's usually just a 1/3 of the hood and 1/3 of the front fenders.

Understood, the front third gets the dings. I was just trying to avoid the line of the bra that can be seen. Any specific bra's that you would recommend for the LS 460?

Used 3M product, that covered front bumper, 1/3 of hood both side mirrors and rear bumper ledge (just below truck), total job about $750 installed. Yes, I see the line, but rather see line than paint chips.
Personal note: I would not attempt to do this yourself, unless you have done it before.
