B pillar wear and tear????

If you are of a larger frame like me you have to move the seat father back. If you wear dress slacks the button on the back pocket digs marks in the panel and cuts, looks like if you dug a dime in the leather 20 times. You hit that panel before you reach the seat.

I will post pictures soon. My car has 6,000 miles and is totally babied. My b-pillar didn't exhibit any wear for the initial 3,000 or 4,000 miles. I just notices this wear yesterday. The leather is pristine (even on the driver's seat). The b-pillar is worn away just by replacing your seatbelt buckle after you take it off. If you notice the b-pillar has a notch for the seatbelt buckle....the rubbing originates at this notch. I don't have any indentations or nicks on the b-pillar...the b-pillar just appears to be worn away and has the consistency of an old-school pink pencil eraser block.
BTW, I'm only 5'10" and 160 pounds. My seat is placed well forward of the b-pillar so I don't contact the b-pillar at all on entry or exit.

i know on my RX, the B pillar is comprise of straight up plastic. so the seat belt buckle has scratched that plastic so many times its beyond repair. ive never ask for a replacement because this seems like a usage issue and not a defect.
however, what im describing might be different from what you guys have

I know there is a redesigned part for the GS, but I havent heard anything for the LS. I would imagine it would be covered under warranty, I know thats how my dealer has been handling the situation.

Tsib 0018-08
Hope this helps you folks that are having the pillar wear issues. The new
pillars look like they will do the trick.
The following was issued April 4th 2008
TSIB 0018-08 B-Pillar Lower Garnish Wear
Some 2007 and 2008 Model Year LS460, LS460L, and LS600h vehicles may
exhibit a lower B-pillar garnish that becomes worn in a contact area. The shape of the garnish has been changed.
This TSIB is good for the 4yr/50,000 mile term. They will replace both left and
right b-pillars (lower).
TSIB is good for the following vehicle before the production change effective VINs shown below:
LS460: JTHBL46F285062516
LS460L: JTHGL46F585024137
600h: JTHDU46F485004266
Have a good one

What, exactly, is a "B" Pillar (and an A and C)?

That's interesting...my vin ends 68672 with a 1/08 production date. I assume my car is not covered here. Why are they just now coming out with this TSIB in April?
