If you are talking about the wear due to the seatbelt rubbing against the lining of the B-pillar, several other members have reported this and some have suggested a fix is in the works. Some have already gotten an unofficial fix.

I have plenty of scuff marks on it especially on the driver side. They might say it's due to your backside rubbing against it when you get in and out of the car? Like maybe the rivets or buttons of your pants hit the B pillar? I'll wait til it become unbearable to look at.

I had similar marks on my ES350 (which I caused loading a box) and decided to ask my service rep since I understood they are now a painted part. After attempting to remove the marks with solvent and truly taking off the paint they gave me a loaner and had the part refinished in a few hours - looks perfect. Give them a try.

Picked up a demo LS 460 while I waited for my LS 600, and the demo had the same scraps, which the dealer replaced. Service tech said they had been having problems with a few of them, so it sounds like a redesign issue.

I spoke to the service advisor. He said they would fix it for free.It however will be recovered, not an o.e.m piece?Do this sound correct??I do not want an aftermarket fix I want the real deal. He said it's not lexus' fault about the workmanship, blah, blah, blah. How do I go about getting the o.e.m piece??Thanks

Are there any updates to this thread?
I just noticed that my b-pillar cover (the black padded portion) has worn away where the seatbelt buckle rubs against it. From a quick inspection, the material with the fake leather graining has worn right through the graining.

I was just in for service and they don't have the new part redesigned yet. They still wanted to replace it for the second time and I told them not to. Make sure you tell the dealer asap so if it takes Lexus a year or 2 to get this fixed you have a record of it and will get it done under warranty even if the car may go out of warranty until they design a new part. I'm hoping it will be done on my next service interval.
I just read some of the posts above about reupholstering the part, I don't think that is good information. Lexus is replacing the part with new.
