Is it possible to remove the middle backseat headrest [LS 460 SWB]? The rear view upon backing out is annoyingly obstructed, and the middle backseat headrest is part of the problem.

We are a family of four, so we do not use the middle seat often anyway.

I assume you have the center middle headrest in lowest possible position? If you want it to be removed, I believe the only way is to ask your dealer to do it.

Yes it is in the lowest possible position.

I was hoping that I could remove and replace the headrest as I please.

If I need the dealership to remove the headrest, then is it reasonable to assume that I'd need them to reattach it as well (when I wanted it reattached to accomodate 3 backseat passengers)?

Yes I guess so unless they show you an easy way to do it. Not sure how easy it is though since the seats don't fold down.
