yup, same here. when i want all 4 doors unlocked, i just touch the rear door, otherwise, just reach for the key fob and unlock twice

come on now, there are only so much the system can do. unless it starts to recognize fingerprints of your family members

Along those lines, I'm pretty sure I read in a review that if the car drives off without the key fob in the vehicle, it will only go so far and then shut off. Can anyone confirm this?

I've been wanting to try this with my wife, however if it does indeed stall, I may have to walk a long way to rescue her.

I of course haven't tried it but it was my belief that the car would run until shut off by the operator and then would not restart. To do anything else would potentially be hazardous.

The car will run as long as you drive it-- across country-- as long as you don't turn it off! As soon as it is turned off, it will not restart without the fob.

I went to a restaurant one day and there were seemingly no free parking spots so I opted (reluctantly) to use valet parking (I despise having to pay someone for parking my car).

My family and I exit the vehicle and the valet enters and begins to drive off. Moments later (car is ~15 feet from me), the car starts complaining (various flashing lights on the dash and beeping noises). I had forgotten to give the valet the key. Upon handing the key to him, the dash icon flashing and beeping noises stop.

The car did not turn off automatically. But, it certainly seemed as though the car was gearing up to turn off, as evidenced by the various visual and audible cues aforementioned (car dash icons, beeping)

But, this is all speculation of course. This incident only taught me that the car will complain if:

1) it's turned on (with the key inside)
2) the key is taken outside of the vehicle (car is still on)
3) somebody drives off

i know there is a process that you can do. I think you hold the black button for some time and if you look in the gauge area where it shows what doors are open it will show which configuration you have. I have to try it out to update.
