Default Update on Tire Pressures

Update on tire pressures: It appears that the Lexus tire pressure readings are accurate after all. My "expensive accurate tire gauge" appears to read 2 pounds lower than the actual pressure. UGH!

As per recommendations here, I purchased a new $50 ACCUTIRE digital racing gauge, calibrateable and showing readings to .1 pounds. It completely agrees with the Lexus readings. I appreciate everyone's help here. I really never even gave a thought that my "good" gauge could be wrong!

I really like the new gauge better anyway, and as I have two other cars in the family it will come in handy and now be correct.

Thanks again everyone for the advice!

What model did you wind up getting? I've had similar frustrations.

It says "ITEM NUMBER MS-5510 Accutire Racing Gauge". It's digital and has a backlight. Cost $49.95.

Naah...I am not OCD about the house temp. In fact my wife is always either too hot or too cold...so when we moved here 16 years ago I swore I'd never ever touch the thermostat so I can't be accused of anything. And I never have.

Tire pressure, however, I AM OCD about. Frankly I am wondering how many tires I wore out prematurely because my gauge was causing me to put in 2 pounds too much. I'd guess 2 pounds wouldn't matter, but I do burn thru tires quickly up and down the hills of Pittsburgh.
