NAVI Update 7.1 (dealership equipment and expense)
#76
Once you go to Mapview and select POI Icons, you can click on Local list or go back to mapview/poi and then click on the local list on the same page and it will show everything by distance within the next 20 miles (either direction. Problem is that you have to stop the car to get the Local List to open up.

My dealer here in Calgary just did the upgrade to 7.1....I was the second upgrade they did. All went well took about 30 minutes and I was on my way.
The charge here in Canada was $299.
The I Agree Screen is gone and there are more streets now that never used to show up before in the newer developed areas of the city.
It was worth the cost for me and I am happy with the upgrade.

USB FOB Used to Upgrade to Nav. 7.1
Hi
Here is a link if you want to see what the FOB looks like that Lexus
uses to load the 7.1 Nav software.

My dealer gave me the fob after they uploaded the software.

That is what the dealer told me
Once its downloaded to the Lexus compt. it wipes the FOB Clean
I am going to have a compt. tech take a look and see if there is anything
on the fob or is it really wiped clean.
Will let you know what I find out.

It looks like a regular USB Drive. You should be able to just insert it into a USB port on your home computer and it will show up in your windows explorer. You will be able to see it just like any drive on your PC and therefore will be able to see it's contents. No need to ask the tech.

Lexus Test Driver
Granted those little USB flash drives don't cost much, but I can't believe they don't mail them back to Lexus to be re-used. Heck, they even go to the trouble to emblazon them with the Lexus logo!
That's a waste.

Interesting - usually not big enough for all the maps and stuff though. might just be to activate the software, like a cd serial number.
This is a great piece of software to help recover lost data -

the trial version is free, and should tell you if there is anything there.
