Default 2008 LS Just Delivered

Replaced my 2007 LS SWB with a 2008 LS SWB and took delivery today. Mercury on Black, ML no backseat stuff. Runs great, smooth, quite and the wind noise fix was done at factory (double glass up front). I think this car is great and I'm looking forward to many miles in this fine auto. I may swap out the tires for Michelin's but we'll see.

Congratulations, carfanmd! Good to hear that the laminated glass is on the SWB now. Mercury exterior, black leather interior, very nice!

Thanks all. Saw the hybrid LS in person. Impressive interior. I'm curious how it drives. Anyway, will keep watching the boards for interesting posts. My first impressions are that this car is such a value for the $$. Listening to the ML is great. The car rides smooth as glass. Also, now they make a SWB model in some supply without the need for spending $$ on backseat stuff. Since I drive my car I don't care about the back seat although the kids love it. In my region you used to have a choice (1) $74.5K ML or (2) $67.5K without. Now they have a $71K car that has ML and all other basics other than the back seat and Lexus link (I think). What I really wish they would take out is that auto park feature which I will never, never, never, use but it came with the car. Oh Well. Have a good Sunday all.

BTW, I hear the Long Wheelbase models are in much tighter supply than the SWB. I'm starting to see inventory of the SWB but did not see any L except one being delivered. Is that the case all over (FL and CA?).

Default Did You have to request Laminated glass?

CARFAN, did you have to request the laminated glass or is this part of the standard build for the 2008 SWB?

correct, lwb has always been in short supply. here in CA all dealerships have quite a lot swb but lwb is rare

My 2008 SWB was built in 09/07 and has the laminated glass on driver and front passenger sides. Since I did not request it, I assume it is standard for all 2008 SWBs.

dash is leather or something similar in the LS600. Its out of my zip code price wise so I did not sit in it (it was presold anyway). As to the other question, my car was built in 10/7 and came with laminated glass so I also assume that means later productions come with laminated glass. I did not request is specially.
