Can anyone tell me if there is a real difference? I am considering either leasing a 2008 or buying a NEW, not preowned, 2007. Both with all the bells and whistles.
Thanks
Thanks

there are still 2007 at your dealership? man, they are doing a pretty bad job on selling cars
there is no big difference between the cars at all. i can think of the nav version got changed to 7.1 (no more i agree screen) for the 08. other than that, everything should be identical with a 500 bucks increase for 08

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually did not know if there were any new 2007's at either of our 2 local dealerships, but my husband just informed me that there are not. So, 2008 it is. It is a beautiful car. I currently have a 2005 ES330 and love it. I have test drove everying from Infiniti, Mercedes, Acura, Jaquar, Volvo, etc and the LS is the best luxury ride for the $. So quiet, comfortable and user friendly, unlike the Mercedes which needed a 4 week class to learn how to use everything.
This is my first post, I did not even know this site existed until today when I googled 07 vs 08 or I would have joined sooner.
Thanks Again.

I should have a silver 2008 LS 460 by next weekend. They have to get it in from some place else. Can't wait. The only thing I believe that this car does not have is voice navigation as in telling it a new address or POI while driving, is that correct? the salesperson did not think so but was not too sure. That would be one nice upgrade for them. Other high end cars have it and I thought it was rather nice.
Thanks for the Welcome

congrats on your new coming car! the salesman should be shot, coz' the ls460 navigation has voice recognition. granted though, the voice system isn't the best out there (and i never use it), but it's definitely there.
for the 500 bucks price increase, it's pretty much there every year, it's called inflation. like andrew said, it's lucky that it's ONLY increased by 500 bucks for 08...

In fact the rate of inflation this year far exceeds (by a factor of 3-4) the markup for this car. It's almost a gift. If your salary usually increases annually to at least keep up with inflation, then you're getting a fine deal.

When I got my LS, they had one 07 and a couple of 08's they are the same car, but like what was said earlier the Nav was updated on the 08, no I agree statement on the 08.. I went with the 08 for a couple reasons, color of the 07 was not what I wanted, better resale value. I also came from another lexus and drove the MB s550 and did not like the ride, nav, and that dam dial that was a real pain to work.. You will love your new car. Good luck.

The other little sneaky increase is the destination charge went from $715 to $765, so it was really a $550 increase.
Congrats on the new car!
BTW Trellnc, I assume Club Lexus informed you of the $100 initiation fee payable to all members who respond to your intial thread. I accept PayPal and money orders, but please, no personal checks, I don't even know you!
