Question So what's actually disabled when moving?

I'm sorry, but I've done searches and maybe I'm just confused.

I understand you can't enter destinations when moving, except by voice command. But some posts say some of the ML sound system controls are also greyed out. What's that about?

And I noticed someone saying a "nearby" POI search (restaurant, for example) will give you only ONE restaurant. Are you kidding??? Surely that's not right ... even Infiniti and GM systems give you 4-5 (also a joke, but a lesser one).

Just how far does the in-motion lockout go toward screwing up the use of on-board equipment? I'm getting an LS next week for an overnighter test drive and I'll play with it, but I'd like a heads-up before I do.

i think the main block on on the nav/audio system is

1) BT / phone menus
2) audio folder / song list
3) all navigation related (address, POI, etc...) except emergency?

Thanks, Rom, but you can still use VR to ask for nearby POI's. But does it display only ONE when you do that?

I would swear my '06 IS350's nav showed 4 or 5 - however many the screen would show at one time. But I can't recall for sure.

When I am driving very slowly- a couple of miles an hour in traffic, I still can use the nav and sound (2007 460L). It greys out at a slightly higher speed.

Now, if some clever person could just fool the nav controller into thinking that's 100mph instead of 10mph, we'd be home free.
