Default Could you LS guys help me clear something up?

From the posts here, I was under the impression that only the 460L came with air suspension (standard?) while the 460 only comes with coil springs. There were quite a few posts about the L being much smoother because of the air suspension. I went to the dealership to figure out the option packages and the guy told me the only way to get air suspension was to go with the Touring package on the 460L?!?!

I believe it is true that the air suspension comes only with the L. It is not true that the only way to get it is by getting the touring package on the 460L. One can order the air suspension with any 460L.

Looks like the salesperson you spoke with is a little rusty in his LS product knowledge. Touring or not, as mentioned above, all L models have the option of air suspension.

The saleman doesn't know what he's talking about, air suspension is not only for the Touring package but an option for the other LS460L models as well, go check it out on the Lexus website.

agree with above, the salesman needs to go back to school

touring FOR SURE has air suspension. however, air suspension is also available in some other lwb models. granted it's not on ALL lwb, from what i have seen it's very common on lwb

my ls460l is not touring and has air suspension

my ls460L is not touring and does not have air suspension. When I bought mine back in Nov 2007 it was what is coming in is what you get unless you wanted to wait for 3-4 months more or longer

just curious, do you mind telling us the msrp of your car and what packages you have? i am trying to see if it's easy to figure out if the car has air suspension from the sticker. i know 79k touring has it. 85k definitely has it. i have seen some other 79k non-touring and they have it.

Romini, do you work for a dealership? I don't mean this in a bad way but you sound like you are in Lexus sales. The salespeople I deal with don't refer to option packages, they simply state MSRP for different packages. Like a 74 car or a 71 car. The first time I heard him say something about a 74 car, I was trying to figure out why the "74 package" was not listed online.

Perhaps the web site is a little rusty, too, as it also says that the air suspension is part of the touring package only.

When I build the LS460L in the Lexus U.S.A. website, air suspension is available not only for the Touring Package, same thing for Canadian website, it's also in the Exec. Package other than the Touring Package.

lol, no, actually i have NOTHING to do with lexus, just another owner that's all. but i would say i might know more about sales and pricing on lexus cars than some salespersons out there. when i talked to them and said i wanted the 85k car and what's their price, some of them were shocked

In a car with air suspension, there's a switch in the car for 3 settings - comfort, normal & sport, just ask the salesman to show you.

hehe i didn't know that. so the normal springs/shocks setup does not have the adaptive suspension huh? interesting. i was going to suggest stick your head behind the wheels and see if you see springs

Do they have 3 settings even if they have it ?
Actually I never paid much attention to the SWB without the air suspension since I've never had any interest in it, but the LS430's adaptive suspension only have 2 settings right ?
