At my dealership you have to ask for synthetic.

NO, it doesn't. It can only help. That said, I recall seeing an official statement from Toyota saying they do not recommend switching from Synthetic back to regular oil on another web site.

Me? I have always used synthetic oil on all my vehicles. After my first free oil change, I will then switch to synthetic.
