Sorry, yes my brother did get his car back last Friday. He said the engine repair warranty bill was somewhere north of $4,000.00, and the list of parts filled almost 4 pages. He has so far been very satisfied, although only cautiously optimitic at this time. The sales team at his dealership in PA is pledging that at any time, if he is dis-satisfied, they will go to the wall for him to get the car replaced. He is keeping that thought in the background for now. BTW, when he originally started car shopping (May '06), the dealership offered to throw him into a brand new 460SWB pending build and delivery of his special order 460L. He does get some preferential treatment as a co-founder of a high profile biotech company, and among his employees are several dozen potential Lexus customers (the dealer is only about 3 minutes away from his offices)...

Very cool. I am glad to see they are going to extra mile for him.

Im still pending parts on the vehicle I am involved in. It isnt a broken valve spring, I just want to see what fixes the vehicle before I disclose the issue. Our FTS is involved and gave me a few parts to order, but we didnt REALLY see anything out of the ordinary apon removal of the valve cover. Just waiting on parts at the moment.

Default 2008 LS460 Broken Valve Spring

I just bought an LS-460 (4 weeks, 1250 miles) and it broke a valve spring. After having to drive the car to the shop (lurching all the way) and the car sitting in the shop for 6 days and the dealer telling me they though this was unacceptable I finally met with the Lexus factory rep. He essentially told me they considered replacing the valve spring as an acceptable solution and there was nothing more to discuss.

I was a longtime fan of Lexus with a great GS-400 prior to this. Not only did I lose the use of the car and now have to wonder what else was damaged in the failure.

I will never by another Lexus as long as I live.
