Window Tinting
#3
I had mine done at the dealer, as rominl said, they outsourced it I paid 235.00 for 35% I went through the dealer because it was easier for me. I also liked the idea that the dealer will warrant it as long as I own it, but I think all shops do.

I guess it's too late now, but you should get your dealer to tint the car as part of the deal. I always do that.
My particular dealer doesn't farm it out, but instead has an in-house guy who does it. But even if they don't, they all have local shops they deal with. To them, it's maybe a hundred-dollar cost, and they can eat it.
Having said that, if you already have the car, get it done at a reputable shop that guarantees it for life.
Metallic tints can sometimes interfere with your nav and radio antenna reception, so you should avoid those.

well I tried and tried but I could never get them to agree to it so I finally gave up and said that else's pay for it after market. We called Sewall last year and they gave us the number of the place that they used and we contacted them and they did our Maxima for 195.

Bottom line is that tint is all about markup. The actual film costs them very little, and it's a matter of how much they're going to charge you for the labor. My only concern would be those cases where door panels have to be removed, and those are few.
In the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, I can recommend Altamere ... they have several locations and are used by many dealers to do their installs. I don't know their retail pricing, but my 3 Acuras were all tinted there (at the dealer's expense) and they did terrific work.
